So many shampoos are full of dyes, metals and sulphate they are no good for your hair, let alone your body. So I was excited to read about a shampoo line that is not only free of all these, but alcohol and salt too.

What it does contain is Argan oil, known as “liquid gold” by the hairdressers of Morocco. I bought some when I was last in Morocco and loved it. The oil helps hair loss and also makes for a great night cream.

Natural Argan oil is known for its revitalising properties, encouraging the root to strengthen and stimulating hair growth for both men and women.
When I was in Morocco the locals stressed how important it was to make sure the oil was pure and there are many fakes around, some of which contain as little as 10 per cent of the Argan oil.

ARGANRain contains 100 per cent pure Argan oil and the shampoo has a gorgeous smell that is not overpowering. Your hair feels thicker, even after the first wash. By the end of the week my hair was looking really shiny and full. A couple of people even asked if I had changed the colour of my hair, as it looked so great.

It’s also nice to use a shampoo in the shower that I can be sure will not contain metals and other additives that could cause problems for my skin over the longer term. The neat packaging made it easy to pack in my overnight bag. I used the oil in my hair at night and washed it out in the morning once a week, instead of a hair mask. Well worth a try.

Healthy Eating Try This Best Bread

I have always tried to eat and live  healthily but I am far from being an angel and just  love a treat. Early this year I lost all of my belly fat  that I gained slowly over the years by changing my diet cutting out the carbs and opting for  brown rice I realised that my body just did not need so much bread, cereal or white rice.

One thing I missed was the odd piece of toast. It was suggested giving  gluten and wheat free breads a try but not to over indugle .When I tried  at them many  were  replaced with fats or fell apart as soon as you opened the packet and tasted as they had been made of cardboard .

Then I came across the answer DS-Gluten free it a brand of Dr Schar made of sourdough ,millet and quinoa .  The sourdough gives the bread it's light texture. millet makes it rich in fibre and amino acids , minerals. The  new health buzz word quinoa is  high in protein , calcuim  and iron.

Believe me it flys off the shelves in Tesco's  'Free From" section I often buy a couple and keep them in the freezer and it is the first  gluten and wheat free bread that really  you would not know it was not the real deal. Great for Turkey and avocado sandwich and unlike many of the other free from breads does not collapse the minute you put anything on it.

Well worth a try .

Having been a judge for ” Wear if for Autism ” I was shocked to read about the  often horrific bullying in society of young people with Autism and the discrimination they face in life. I wanted to make a difference I want to educate people that its not OK because someone does not fit in to the mains stream  of society to treat them with less than hundred percent respect.
Meeting the truly remarkable Anna Kennedy OBE inspired me to come on board. I hope to bring my skills to the table and help make a difference.

The Protein Filled Snack Taste of Texas Beef Jerky

Taste Of Texas

I have noticed in many of the gyms across London the apperances of a protein snack Beef Jerky.  Having lived in the US I had seen it many years back it was very popular with the cow-boys on the Rodeo Track and with many red meat lovers.  It is also a common thing in shops across South Africa.

So it came as not surprise to discover Maurizio Morelli celebrity chef at Latuim has launched a range of the protein treat.  Paul New Texan reseident and former Aviator   gave up flying to train with Maurizo and introduced him to the unique receipt for the jerky and Taste of Texas was born.

With Maurizo at the launch of Taste of Texas

It is popular already with the gym crowd as the protein level is extremely high offering more than many fitness drinks it is easy to carry around and  no need to mix. Now for you who know me i hate red meat  but for those that do this is an amazing idea.

Here i am at the lauch party with Maurizo orgonised by Box Pr at The Phene Chelsea

People have always raved over Doctor Duna Al amazing acupuncture face lift and treatment for the whole body she is one of the most sought after alternative therapy practisioners in the UK she flys all over the world treating private patients .

Copyright Steven Smith picture Jilly Johnson having the acupuncture face lift  by Doctor Duna Ali

Doctor  Duna has teamed up with the Bionad Clinic the only establsihment  in Europe offering NAD+ therapy.

The  acupuncture face lift is huge is the US, with people such as Kim Kardashain and Demi Moore to name a few all devotees of the youth giving relaxing treatment . Doctor Duna approach to facial acupuncture is different form many , combing a unique approach  based on inserting needles on the acupoints and on the lines and wrinkles then  by inserting long needles to the tune the face muscles  rather like threading a needling . Duna found that this technique makes   for a better longer lasting results.

Doctor Duna Ali

But when Duna was treating a patient undergoing NAD+ Therapy and was astounded by how much stronger the results of her acupuncture was . But what is NAD? The initials stand for Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, a metabolic co enzyme that is responsible for the repair and re-modeling of every cell in the body.

Our bodies are under great pressure on a daily basis to produce enzymes to keep us in ultimate health and NAD is essential in the production of the energy molecules, which effectively give our bodies a regular MOT.

NAD Therapy is a natural way to generate cellular energy. It
increases mental clarity and alertness, which so often diminish with age, as the brain uses ten times more NAD than any other organ. NAD also helps repair DNA damage and enhances mood and emotional balance.

After just one NAD session, many people report having a renewed energy, as well as being able to sleep better and to think more clearly.

NAD therapy is painless and no side effects have been reported after the treatment, although you may feel a little lightheaded. Tightening of the chest can sometimes occur during treatment but this will subside once you relax in the Bionad treatment rooms, which are supervised by trained nursing staff.

Many of those who have undergone this revolutionary therapy report immediate benefits amid a general feeling of rejuvenation. For others, the benefits can take longer to come through – some report tiredness and generally feeling down feeling during the course of treatment. However, this is quickly replaced with an improved feeling of wellbeing as the body strengthens in response to the therapy.

To optimise the effect of the treatment, patients should ensure that they allow themselves time to relax and get plenty of sleep. Some 90% of patients report no cravings, increased clarity of mind, better problem-solving ability, improved focus and concentration, increased energy, and improved mood.

So what is the science behind this groundbreaking new anti-ageing treatment? In December of last year, Harvard University, The National Institutes of Health, MIT, and the University of New South Wales published a joint study into reversal of the ageing process in mice and published the results in the prestigious science journal Cell. BBC News and many other news media hailed the results as the most important breakthrough yet in age reversal.

The team of scientists included Dr David Sinclair, who discovered the anti-aging properties of the compound Resveratrol, along with a distinguished group of the most notable researchers in the field of cell biology and ageing.
Doctor Duna believes that opening up the channels helps make the NAD+ therapy even stronger and the results of her treatment  astounding .

Anti-Ageing Miracle?

I will be writing about what could be a revolutionary treatment in the fight against ageing - Neuro regeneration therapy, exclusive to the Bionad clinic:

I had my second session yesterday and my skin feels like I've had the best facial in the world; my body feels pumped and stronger.

Using what is about to be the new buzzword in the beauty and anti ageing market - NAD - this natural molecule has been shown to aid in the reversing of the ageing process and to help a number of age-related illnesses. Everyone I know who has tried the treatment has been thrilled by the results and people suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome have said after one treatment they feel like a new person. .

"You've got to have it "

 Crystal Clear
Lift Away The Years

Loren Oberg tries the sensational Lift Away The Years  by
Every so often among the lotions, potions and beauty creams that flood onto the market there's something that really stands out and this year it has to be 'Lift Away The Years' by Crystal Clear. It's like a magic wand if you're in need of a quick fix before dashing out for the evening after work or just need a general freshen up. It's also great to use as part of your morning beauty regime.

I discovered Crystal Clear a few years back, when I tried their microdermabrasion facial. And last Wednesday at a glamorous show-biz party held around  the Haymarket Hotel pool they and several other fashion and beauty companies demonstrated their latest products to a mix of media and celebrity guests.

When they suggested my friend Lorena Oberg try 'Lift Away the Years' I have to say I was rather doubtful. At first sight it looked like just another gimmick - and as Lorena was already looking fabulous, I was concerned that she'd ruin her make-up.  But the demonstrator assured us it was easy to apply and would enhance rather than ruin her existing make-up. In fact, the only time it should not be used is for a fortnight after Botox or fillers. After than, it is designed to increase the longevity of both.

The wand is easy to use and takes between five and ten minutes the first few times you use it. After that, it takes just a couple of minutes to make your skin look toned and firmer. To show how it really worked, they did the right side of Lorena's face first, moving the wand and holding it on the jawline before moving to the chin bone and eye area. It was impressive, particularly as Lorena was already looking great - she began to look even fresher on the right hand side of her face. Lorena herself was knocked out - particularly as we were told the effect would be enhanced as the evening wore on - and she couldn't wait to have the other side of done.

'Lift Away The Years' uses sonic technology that instantly lifts the skin while applying the intense anti-ageing cream. When the cream runs out, simply refill the wand. It's battery operated so these will need to be changed from time to time. It's also compact enough to fit in your handbag.

Super Star Hairdresser Adrian Wilde 5 little Tips.

Superstar Hairdresser Adrian Wilde's Five Little Beauty Tips

One of the nicest hairdressers you could want to meet has to be Northern celebrity stylist Adrian Wilde. The list of stars that have sat in his chair runs for miles. He's a regular on BBC Manchester radio and does not charge the prices you'd expect to pay at other salons that cater to the stars. Here he shares his five little beauty tips.

1 if you colour your always invest in a salon reconvened treatment!

2 if you have a build up of product try putting some washing up liquid on the hair before you wet it then wash it again this should get rid of build up of product!

3 if your hair is greasy never run the scalp to much as this activates the sebaceous glad that will create more oil instead just leave the shampoo on for 5 mins with no scrubbing!

4 if you have a kink on your hair blow it the opposite way than you want it to go and then blow it again in the right direction this should help keep it straight!

5 if your growing your hair still keep getting it trimmed as this will help stimulate your shut to grow and try using the straighteners less and always with a heat protector

There is nothing quite like a beautiful smile to make you look and feel good.

The best hygienist in London Deirdra McNamara  Tel: 0207 581 1000 / 0207 584 2537

Brilliant white, glamorous teeth has to be my Number 1 beauty tip but the first rule is to make sure you get yourself a great dentist.

I'm very lucky with my dentist, Alan Gold, but I had to wade through a number of others who tell you one thing one day and another the next before I found him. The best way is to get a personal recommendation from someone who themselves has fabulous teeth so you can actually see how good the dentist is.

Rule Number 2 is get yourself a good hygienist and visit them every three months to keep that smile looking great. Hygienists are easy to find in the US and, when I lived over there, I enjoyed my sessions, as they did a deep root creaning and numbed my mouth first so there was no discomfort.

In the UK - the land of the Nanny Tooth-brushers - it's more difficult to find a decent one. I went to several who were dreadful and in the end gave up and left my hygiene sessions for when I was back in the States visiting family.

One UK hygienist I went to flatly refused to numb my mouth before treating me and she also took offense when I asked her what sort of cleaning she would be giving me (there are various techniques). She then proceeded to lecture me on how to brush my teeth as through I were a five year old, and ticked me off for the damage that tea and coffee were doing.

I pointed out that I was a 50 year old man, not a toddler, and needed no instruction on how to brush my teeth. Furious at her patronising manner, I cut the session short although it still cost me £60. Since then, I've heard similar stories from other people, and have been told that hygienists in this country are trained to lecture on teeth cleaning, coffee staining and smoking. Like any professionals, though, they should be aware of that excellent saying - "judge your audience."
I'd all but given up over here and had already booked into my hygienist in Florida for my next visit when I heard aboutDeirdra McNamara, who works at Alan Gold's practice. The word was she was as good as hygienists across the Atlantic so, not really relishing spending my holiday in the dentist's chair, I booked an appointment.

I was a bit wary but, instead of grilling me about how many cups of coffee I drink a day, she listened to every word I said. She clearly understood there were various types of cleaning of the gums, teeth and mouth with a gel straight away, as she could see it was sensitive. When she needed to do the deep cleaning, she injected a local anesthetic so she could get the teeth really clean without any undue pain.

Deirdra also jet salt sprayed my teeth, bringing them up a bright white. My mouth felt as though it had had an MOT. Finally she polished my teeth with the residue of the salt and paste. The results were incredible - no need for bleach or anything else.

She also advised me on different toothbrushes, but without doing a hard sell on the ones stocked by the surgery or talking down to me. For the first time in the UK, I left a dental hygiene session feeling and looking good. I was so happy I booked for my next appointment immediately.

You don't have to be a patient at Alan's practice to see Deirdra, who works there on Mondays, Thursdays and Friday .

We all know that you are what you eat. But sometimes, as a single man,/woman  it's difficult to come home and start cooking after a day's work. Supermarkets still tend to cater for families, which means you have to buy more than you want or need and run the risk of wasting the food. I'm very much a fresh produce guy and I don't like freezing food because I feel some of the nutrition will be lost. As for ready meals, just look at the list of ingredients on the back - far too much sugar, salt and other additives. Even the labels billed as healthy are often anything but.

I have been really into my training since coming back from India. I've been at the gym most days and working on a high protein low/carb food regime. It's been hard sticking to it, and expensive - sometimes I look at my supermarket bill and think I might as well have eaten out.

Today I discovered something unusual at my gym - it has a ready meal section offering the BodyPlus prepared food range They deliver every day to the gym but I was a bit suspicious, wondering if it could be a good as it looked. And it certainly does look mouth-wateringly good. At £4.99, it's cheaper than a coffee and a sandwich in many places.

One of the gym  trainers practically pushed me out of the way to get at the beef rump with sesame noodles and sautéed kale! Not being a red meat eater I took the plunge and bough the lemon and garlic chicken with citrus quinoa.

There are four meal types in the range:
                                                     Body Plus +Muscle Gain
                                                     Body Plus: Weight Maintenance
                                                     Body Plus: Weight Loss
                                                     Body Plus Vegetarian

I have just had my first BodyPlus ready meal and it was absolutely delicious. I felt as though I had just dined at a good restaurant and now can't wait to try the rest of the range.
Join them on Face Book and watch this space for updates on this company. It really is the answer for people who live alone, work out hard and want to eat well without spending a fortune.

 Star waxer Antonia Galvo

I am luckily free of body hair apart from in the usual places, so I guess you could call me a pretty smooth fella (apologies for the pun!). But there is one irritation I do have - nose hair. I've tried just about everything on the market to get rid of them, but nothing really worked, often leaving some of the hairs behind or the roots showing.

Now, this may sound vain, worrying about a few nose hairs, but they really get to me. When I see a man with hair sticking out of his nose, they remind me of someone's grandad, and I have to resist the urge to offer them a nose trimmer.

When I was in Miami a few years back, I was at a salon with a friend who was getting his chest waxed, ready to hit South Beach show off his pecs. Sitting in on his treatment, I heard the lady ask if he wanted his nose done too. To my amazement, she placed menthol wax (a different kind of wax than is used on the legs and chest) into his nose, and a minute later pulled it out, leaving his nose free of hair.

My friend is used to waxing, being Latin and somewhat hirsute. The beautician, who came from Brazil, told me many men have their noses hair waxed there - they even do it in the barbers. So I jumped on the couch and let her place the wax in my nose. I have to say it's not for the faint hearted (although I'm also told I have a very low pain threshold). To me, it felt like a small punch to the nose. However, it was worth it, as it was the first time I was totally free of nose hairs.

Back in the good old UK, where a man having a manicure can still raise eyebrows, it was near impossible to get the nose treatment. I rang salon after salon - one even took offence at the very question and hung up on me! Then I realised that most Brazilian salons would offer the procedure and found a brilliant waxer/beautician right by Chelsea Football club - . Antonia Galvao and her sister Jane originate from Brazil are an institution in Fulham. As well as their waxing technique, they give excellent facial massages.

Trust me, if nose hairs are an issue, you could not be in safer hands.

It was the official website launch of the eagerly awaited My Secret Dressing Room in London last night and the fashionistas were out in force.

Model Samantha Tomlin  with me steps out at

The glamorous affair was held at Knightsbridge's exclusive Buddha Bar and beautiful Samantha Tomlin, the actress and model, led the way in a stunning gold couture gown. Socialite and My Secret Dressing Room marketing director Hayley Gould greeted around 200 guests, including Sally Farmiloe Neville, Liz Brewer, actress Nicole Faraday, singer Kavana and Philip Salon.

So what exactly is My Secret Dressing Room? Well, we're all familiar with Airbnb, the holiday room and apartment rental site which has certainly transformed the way I travel and this is a similar concept.

This time, however, it's for the fashion world. So instead of having to buy an outfit for a wedding or Ascot or a gown for a special occasion, women can slash the cost by grouping together to share their wardrobes.

Among the guest  elite catwalk model Corrine Tuddenham-Trett and Suzanne  Curtis

You simply look online at where you can and rent something fabulous for three days or a week. As long as you live in London or within travelling distance, the outfit can be with you within four days of ordering. It will be hand delivered straight to your door and also picked up.

The company started in 2013 in Milan, Italy, and the concept soon took off. Now it's arrived in London. You do need to be in or near London to rent your clothes, but people living elsewhere can register, pre order clothes and have them waiting at their hotel or wherever they are staying.

Who has not dreamed of owning a Louis Vuitton bag - even if it is only for one day? So the four day wait will be well worth it.

The website will give a choice of over 1,000 items – and there's an air of mystery, too, with many of the people who rent out their outfits choosing to remain anonymous. So, you never know, you might be wearing something owned by a star or even Royalty!

It's all great fun but I do hope they introduce a platinum service that will allow you to get items on the day – knowing all the fashionable ladies in my life, a four day wait would feel like a lifetime to them.

If you are renting, it's a great way to make money from quality items that might just be sitting in your wardrobe. The clothes and accessories are fully insured and will be picked up and collected.

My dear friend Sally Farmiloe already has many items on the website just waiting to be rented out – and with her topnotch socialising background, you're bound to feel like a million dollars in one of her outfits. There are sizes to fit everyone, so go have a look at
